we have connections to known historical figures.
For example:
- Susan is a
great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter

Denton (born 1603 in Yorkshire England. Founder of the
first Presbyterian Church in the New World.).
- Susan is a second cousin removed six times of
U. S. President,
Zachary Taylor
(because Susan is a great-great-great-great-granddaughter of
his second cousin, John Taylor).
- Susan is a great-great-great-great-grand-niece of
John Denton,
who was listed as a resident at
Ruddle's Fort, Kentucky,
at the time of the 1780 attack by the British and Native
America warriers. This is because Susan is a great-great-great-great-granddaughter
of this John Denton's brother, Thomas Denton.

great-great-great-great-great-grandmother, Catherine "Katie"
Eddleman
was at this Fort and taken captive, along with her sons John and Daniel,
according to family legend, and we know that she
later married John Burger,

and Williams individuals were present,

- Susan is a great-great-grand-niece to the husband

President Abraham Lincoln's
first cousin. This is because Susan is the great-great-granddaughter of Allen Denton,
whose brother, Isom Denton,
married Elizabeth Lincoln, the President's first cousin.
- Susan is seventh-cousin twice-removed of
Col. Elmer Ephraim Ellsworth, who was
the first publicized casualty of the U. S. Civil War when he was shot trying to
remove a rebel flag in Virginia. This Col. Ellsworth was a close personal
friend of President Abraham Lincoln,
and the President sobbed upon learning of
Col. Ellsworth's death and hosted Col. Ellsworth's funeral in the East Room of
the White House. Susan's brother's and father's middle name,
"Ellsworth," was passed down through our
Hickman and
Denton families in honor of Col. Ellsworth.

other family members. Of particular interest is that Issac Hickman's oldest son
named his first child, George Hickman, which would not be an uncommon tribute to
